Again stumbled upon this via Ritholtz’s blog, and the links of shows he’s put there. Starting this Wednesday, July 8th, PBS will be showing a 4-part documentary on the history of money, or as Niall Ferguson called it, The Ascent of Money.
With the first episode available online, it provided an excellent introduction into the history of money, so far involving the origins of bonds, of the stock market, of bubbles. Perhaps not a perfect substitute for the book of the same title, it is still a documentary exploding with information that will be a true delight to those interested to find out where the modern economic system came from.
