Ronald McDonald leaves Iceland

Due to the difficult economic environment that is prevailing in what used to be one of the richest countries in the world (in terms of GDP per capita), Iceland saw the three McDonald’s stores it has in the country say its goodbye.  The fast food chain says it has no plans of ever coming back to the country.  This puts Iceland in the same group as Albania, Armenia, and Boznia and Herzegovina, which do not have the blessing of the golden arches in its economy.
