Diageo serves to minorities

I just thought I’d post this.

It’s an interesting strategy for Diageo, one of the most recognized and biggest liquor makers in the world producing brands such as Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Captain Morgan, and Baileys.

From Bloomberg:

Diageo Plc mixed Ketel One vodka cocktails alongside performing drag queens at New York’s Love Ball last month, courting the 2,000-person gay and lesbian crowd and throngs outside in Times Square via jumbo TV screens.

Just as sales for competitors such as Pernod and Bacardi are slipping, efforts of the firm (and maintaining spending for marketing) seem to be paying off.
