Up and down from Lehman

Bespoke has a good table out on 82 countries and their performance since the collapse of Lehman in September of last year. Out of the 4 BRIC countries, only Russia is down and among the G7 countries, all are still below last year’s level and the US is second to worst performer, after Italy, with a 20.3% loss (S&P 500). Britain performed the ‘best’ with a decline of 11.06%.

Another observation: Many of the 23 countries who are now up are from Asia while many of the laggards are South American and (Eastern) European countries.
