Apple’s competitor Nokia is suing the former for allegedly infringing some of the Finnish’s mobile maker’s patent.
Nokia said the patents cover wireless data, speech coding, security and encryption and affect all Apple iPhone models shipped since the iPhone was introduced in 2007.
“By refusing to agree appropriate terms for Nokia’s intellectual property, Apple is attempting to get a free ride on the back of Nokia’s innovation,” [Vice President, Legal & Intellectual Property at Nokia] Mr. Rahnasto said.
Nokia is warned that the legal proceeding might go on for years. None from Apple could be reached for comment. Why did I think the lawsuit was somehow a result of Nokia losing market share to Apple’s iPhone?
